About Phoenix Island Charters
As a 2nd generation sailor, Captain Cory spent his childhood sailing the Gulf Coast of Florida - from the Panhandle to the Keys. After attending college and testing the waters of corporate America, he escaped to the open ocean and found freedom on the decks of traditional oceangoing sailing ships - working his way up the ranks from deckhand to Captain. During those years he transited the Panama Canal, Central America, the West Coast United States and Canada, East Coast United States, all of the Great Lakes and the Caribbean. He sailed across the Atlantic from Puerto Rico to England using celestial navigation and traditional sailing methods - before sailing on to explore Western Europe.
From there he was drawn to the Caribbean - delivering yachts from New England, sailing to Cuba several times and eventually as Captain & sailing instructor for the Moorings yacht charter company out of Tortola, BVI. Over the next several years he explored every nook and cranny of the Virgin Islands, falling in love with the people, culture, and waters.
Cory takes his experience on luxury crewed yacht charters and brings it to day charters - believing that the boat should be more than a delivery service or water taxi, but a venue in itself - offering comfort, class, water toys, paddle boards, snorkel gear and a concierge level of service.
